Air Filled 18 in Mylars and bouquets

At one of our supermarkets I noticed a rack of 18 inch Mylars and even some Deco bubbles … on sticks. While there were at least 3 dozen helium filled on the front end.

Yeah … no. I’m buying them with helium. Air-filled bouquets with 18 inch Mylar on sticks look so ridiculous and kind of sad. My only exception is a Latex balloon on a stick. Those have been around forever. And maybe an air filled Mylar centerpiece. I remember my cousin got one of those back in 1999.

I’m trying not to be Mister Picky Pants, they’re still balloons, but come on … helium “shortage” my ass. Until Disney World starts selling their balloons on sticks, there is no “shortage.” I just wish more family restaurant chains would have balloons on sticks but noooooooo.

You sound a bit too angry over something as small as this.

Yeah there is a helium shortage. It's really expensive. We use it as a coolent in our lab, and prices have skyrocketed. Helium is rare on earth and once released it escapes our atmosphere so cant even be re extracted from the air. Plus no processes we currently use produce Helium, so until we get fusion, we aint going to be getting more of it on this planet either
