So I've got a real phobia of balloons, and I find it gets in the way of fully enjoying myself with balloons. I can't blow them up very big, but I get more excited the bigger they get. So I generally need someone else to blow up the balloon for me to get excited… and that can be a problem.
My question is: Has anybody else suffered intense fears about balloons, and if so, how did you get over it? I want to be able to blow them up really big, even though I'm scared. Any ideas?
Also, is there some way to tell when a balloon might pop? I'm pretty sure I give up too early because "it might pop any second" but it never does and I'm sure it's not even close. Is there some way to be confident that it won't pop while I'm blowing it up? Any input helps. Thanks.
