Plus I'm tired of people complaining because I convert the files. I'm sorry I don't have enough memory to store a large number of 1.2 GB videos that the media player on my computer won't play anyway. If I didn't convert the files after I buy them I can only listen to the video but just look at a black screen.Comment

sounds like a mac these are often missing even the most basic codecs...

if you want you can compile the sourcecode yourself
feel free to do that... takes roughly 12 minutes...
windows media player is phoning home everything you watch by the way...
you cna easily record the network activity while you watch something... you can try to block most but that is some efford out of the box windows media player tells everything m$. feel free to test that yourself wireshark is a pretty good packet sniffer...
concerning malware or other disasters have a solid backup strategy with one backup physically seperated from the computer...Comment
