I want to make DIY latex balloons

Where do you get supplies and what not. It seems people are keeping their sources top secret... I don't know why... it sounds like it could be fun to make your own balloons.

I believe the molds would be easy enough to make. I have no clue where to get the latex...

Any input would be cool and tip too!

You could get it from here: https://www.monstermakers.com/dipping-latex/ or any other websites that specialize in liquid balloon latex.

all the home made balloons ive seen over the years have been very thin and almost like bubbles with high defect rates. i think the really good, strong, consistent ones use patented dyes and latex formulas.

it all depends what you want to do with them i suppose.

Thanks for the link. It looks as the "balloon latex" is the base. It seem you need to add ingredients to the latex to get a good balloon. There has some got to be someone making home balloons that can help. It can't be rocket surgery.

I think that lates from monster makers would not make good balloons on its own. I am looking for the 11 herbs and spices to make a good balloon. Strong and stretchy and squishy.

I found this place and has stuff for latex. There is color and a "stiffener" and "thinker" I think the HX-200 is what I want. Now to find additives that will make a good balloon.

mold latex, liquid latex, natural latex, mold making, rubber, mask making, mask rubber, rubber coating

I want to do the same but with Mylar balloons. Sure I can easily buy plain silver ones but I want to recreate some designs that Anagram/CTI/Betallic had in the 80s and early 90s!!! I bought some really old 1980s ones on EBay in 2014 and have plenty left but most of them require a heat sealer and it doesn’t always work perfectly but at least I have them!

Can this be our unofficial balloon builders thread? I've wanted to make my own balloons for fun as well but it is a bit of a mystery still
