How far can Q16s be pushed?

Sorry, may have been asked before, but I'm a bit disappointed in myself with Q16s. I don't mind popping, but like to be prepared.

How far can Q16s be pushed? I feel that I'm criminally under inflating them but the tightness makes me a little apprehensive.

    Thanks

You can easily blow a fresh one until it has a full neck. They're some of the strongest balloons you can get. If you keep blowing they'll get huge and very tight, so it's hard to pop one by accident.

I absolutrly love Q16s, so I don't even know where to begin tbh. But this is how big they can get when you b2p them.

Let me know if you have any specific questions about them.

As wildheart and Black_Bear mentioned, they can get quite large before popping. Even on first inflation. With the first few inflation's, you can take them to firm with a little bit of neck and be able to ride them. I've done this the last couple days with some Q16's I bought 6 years ago. They held up well to my 220lbs sitting and bouncing on them. I've also taken fresh ones to slightly over inflated, cuddled and squeezed them for a while then inflated them even more. Still confident that they wouldn't pop and wake up my sleeping kiddos. They are very good balloons.

How often do you get fresh Q16s that are defective and pop early when inflating?

There is a lady on YouTube called Miyu, she also has a clips for sale store. In this video she demonstrates inflation to the max of Q16. You may find it of interest.

I bought and intended to fill 100 with helium and air for a birthday surprise for my wife. One bag was fresh and the other, while just purchased, was older stock. The fresh ones all inflated fine but the older stock had 5 - 10 that popped prematurely on the helium tank.

If they are freshly manufactured, you shouldn't have any issues at all. Q16s are designed for decorators who rely on quality balloons. Very rarely will you find a defective Qualatex balloon.

Reading LoonerHoax's reply. Of course when buying packets of Qualatex balloons how does one know which are freshly manufactured and which have been around for a while.
Looking at the packet of Q's I have , near the barcode is written 'Made in USA' along with a number - 202104. I have heard that Qualatex put a date code on the packet. So could 202104 be the date of manufacture i.e. 2021 Year & 04 April.
I'm sure someone more knowledgeable about balloons than me can confirm or discard my thinking.

Yes! They put the month and year in all their bags. Whenever I order online, I always ask what date codes are they. The newest/freshest ones make the most violent b2p's.

As the others have noted, a non-defective Q16 is a phenomenally reliable balloon. You can get a good neck even on first inflation; they're good for several inflations after that and get quite a lot bigger (but will still take quite a lot of punishment). Don't worry about the tight feeling as it gets reasonably full... it's still got a lot longer to go!

A cute example of how far Q16s can be pushed. They sure are fun balloons to b2p!

Only problem I have with pushing Q16s is that they get difficult to tie. Even with only slight necking, I find this is the case.

                              Hi there,

As it is with all balloons the Q16s can be pushed until you hear a loud bang.

Sorry for the silly reply - I just couldn't help it.

Sincerely (well - maybe not that sincerely)
                              Susie
