Re: Gemar!
The larger sizes are definitely more on the round size - pretty durable if you don't overinflate them...
For whatever reason I've been going through a lot of smaller (11-12") in various brands lately - Gemar are a lot narrower and more elongated.
When pushed their sizes get very rock hard - a second inflation may be recommended depending on your preference. The defect rate was pretty low and the number that spontaneously exploded when heavily overinflated and tied off (I did 600 in a room...) was a little more than anticipated.
Personally I'm more a fan of Kalisan brand right now over Gemar - would probably consider them comparable in my taste to Sempertex if you are familiar. (Though imho Sempertex are superior...)
Have fun & happy looning!Comment

Re: Gemar!
You can buy from Majestic Party Rentals. I couldn't find for sure if they ship to CA but worth asking.Comment

Re: Gemar!
If anyone is still curious, there is a new video from Susyloon that shows just how strong the Gemar 19" crystal actually are.
It's amazing that a balloon that seems so tight on first inflation can stretch out so much and turn out to be one of the strongest.Comment

Re: Gemar!
One of the first European brands I ever purchased was well over 10 years ago from one of those sellers that no longer exists. It was gemar, probably the 19 inch. Deep red standard color. Excellent quality, super durable. The only one I ever had and it sticks in my memory.Comment

Re: Gemar!
If you look closely in the Susy video, you'll see that they're quite underinflated.
I recently bought a bunch of the crystal Gemar 19s from Bargain Balloons, and I found that they actually popped pretty easily. They are quite sturdy if do what she did and don't try to neck them, but they became pretty unstable any time I overinflated them and tried to get a neck. Because of that, even after stretching them out, they ended being even smaller than Unique 16s in my experience.Comment
