I've found my new favorite balloons.

I've never messed around with Belbals until recently. I got some printed from Balloune QC from a print competition (and a bunch of other brands to try out). And wow so far belbal 17 inches are my new go to balloons.

Letting it oxidize and stretch out to inflate more could easily get it to 20 to 21 inches. Still very squishy in the pic.

Are belbal 17s soft when fully inflated then? Belbal 14s are far too stiff and plastic feeling for my tastes

I got this one to what I think is fully inflated. Still feels soft and squishy. I'll leave it inflated for days and blow into it to bring it back to over inflated status. They'll just keep getting bigger. Deflating and reinflating helps quite a bit too.

And popping them still results in a pretty loud bang even after a week.

I had no idea you could get necks like that on a kalisan 18". I need to try that now! Do you need much pre stretching/many inflations to achieve that?

Kalisan 18's are nice. I had one inflated for a while. I've got a nice stache of those as well. Great balloons that as well, just keep getting bigger.

I haven't achieved what they have in the photo. But Kalisan 18 inch balloons have a fairly long neck to begin with.

What I like to do is put air in the balloon. Twist it a couple times at the neck base. And pull the balloon away from me and blow it up. This stretches the neck. Deflate, inflate, deflate, inflate repeat as much as you want. Then untwist the balloon neck, give it some stretches. Stretch the bulb of the balloon and then blow the balloon up normally. If done right it starts inflating from the neck to the bulb. Then blow, stretch, blow, stretch and repeat.

Kalisans also are fun to keep around, they'll get softer to allow for more air.

BB17 and K18 are both very nice. I think I like the Kalisans just a little more, but I appreciate the Belbals for how sturdy they feel.
