Yep. I've bought a lot of these and have found the occasional heart balloon. They've all burst while inflating. I don't think they're as strong as the standard shape.

I ordered a mix bag of these to try them out and was really impressed with the size they get to, so I ordered 100 of the pink and 100 of the red. They just arrived today and the red ones are great but the pink balloons are in a weird condition, the best way I can describe it is that they feel stale and when I took them out of the bag they stuck together in one big lump. I separated them and once I stretch them they go back to normal but it'll take me a while to hand stretch each balloon. Has anyone else noticed similar with these or did I just get a bad batch?

Yep, I've had a few of them like you describe. I think it's due to them being stored in cold temperatures. The latex kind of shrivels in on itself but once you stretch them properly they will still inflate well. I've bought 1500 in total now and it's always the pink or yellows that end up like that for some reason.

Only difference is £5.99 ones come in a bag, the £3.99 ones come loose. May as well order the loose ones & save £2 !

I agree with you completely on that. Im not a huge fan of balloons bigger than the 16inch Qualatex ones I blow up and much prefer any of the very normal party balloons you can buy at some supermarkets. Her in the UK I like the ones that Sainsburys sell bot the plain ones and the happy birthday balloons.

Not sure if they still use the same supplier but I had a big batch last year that blew up to way beyond the rated size and because I always preinflate the necks to make sure I dont get a nasty surprise (I hate the bangs) Ive got a technique where the balloons got to a ridiculous size. Provided you stretch them a lot and warm them slightly they go big and Ive found them pretty reliable too. Theyre not strong especially when blown to the limit but they are lovely balloons to have around and I love blowing them up to the absolute limit as thats my thing with balloons. The photo is just a few I blew up to show you.

Are those crystal ones from sainsburys? They look so pretty. I had no idea they sold those. A lot of stuff these days aren't transparent which is disappointing. It doesn't matter if they aren't too strong, as long as they get big. I actually kinda find it exciting knowing it could burst unexpectedly. How many come in the packet? Is there a brand at all so I know what to look for?

Hi. I didnt realise it at the time till I blew them up but the lovely big transparent ones are actually under the brand name Habitat and are described as 11inch party balloons and the lilac and pale blue and the pink one on the left were Pastel balloons also Habitat. They came in boxes at the time. 50 party balloons were £2.50 and 25pastel balloons were £1.50. I was amazed at how big and pretty looking and tactile these balloons got. I plucked up the courage to blow up the pastel ones a good bit bigger too after that pic. Not sure if they still stock them but I will check in the next few days and let you know. They are all under the Habitat brand and I got some Happy Birthday ones recently and blew them up and I felt they wernt going to stop. Much bigger than 12inch balloons.
I do love your stories so keep them coming. It reminds me of a lot of my own experiences as a young boy up here in Scotland.

Heres the pic I have as my avatar one. I thought these Habitat/Sainsburys balloons wouldnt stop taking air and I was really really excited blowing them up as well as that familiar tense/nervous feeling in case they go bang!

I found the pink and yellow ones were hard, too, but rubbing them between my hands or manually stretching them brings them back to being nice and soft. They blow up no problem after that.

Those crystal ones look amazing! I'll have to get me some of them to blow up and play with. Thank you for the tip.

Hi. Im not absolutely sure if they will still stock the exact same balloons as most of those supermarkets will source acording to price I guess. Ive bought some as recent as July and they were still the same. They blow up easily and are a lovely colour and if you get them right to the edge of the limit they feel really tight and have long necks. They even actually excite me just having a pile of them around and I sit and look at them. Odd but this whole thing is odd!

I like these, but they are surprisingly loud when they are overinflated, especially on first or second inflation. They also have a weird texture after being inflated a few times.
