    New Inflatable Smell

Am I the only one that loves the smell when you open up new inflatables?

I bought a couple of new pool toys today and now I'm really enjoying the smell left behind in the room where I opened and inflated one of them.

I know a lot of you find the balloon scent appealing which I do too, but nothing beats the smell of fresh pvc for me.

I hadn't thought about it too much until now but it's actually a big part of the fetish for me.

It's been all to long since I had the pleasure of smelling "fresh" inflatables, but yeah, it's quite something, quite a big turn-on for me as well.

No Ash, your not the only one that loves the smell of a new inflatable item. I think it was that distinctive smell that got me hooked all those years ago!

I love the smell too. If they made an air-freshener in that fragrance I'd buy it!

Yeah, likewise. Well, maybe not, since I would just be horny all the time then :P

Hell yeah, now there's an idea. Though I'd rather it be from having the real thing lying around the house.

*Note to self* Buy house with pool this year as reason to have inflatables out all the time.

              Eu de Vinyl'e by Vichy?
Enjoy soft, shiny and smooth PVC (inflatables and clothing). The 6P-free/10P-free material is total rubbish.

Yes, I love not only the smell of new PVC, but also the persistant and more subtle PVC odour that remains on the inflatable long after that charateristic and strong 'new PVC' smell has dissipated over time.

PVC appeals to me in many respects:
Its glossy/shiny appearance is visually appealing
Glossy/shiny and clear PVC with a high plasticiser content (so as to make it soft and pliable) feels great against the skin
The noise (squeaks, rustles and crackles) is appealing
                And, of course, the smell.
Enjoy soft, shiny and smooth PVC (inflatables and clothing). The 6P-free/10P-free material is total rubbish.

I know what mean. Also I actually sometimes prefer it if they've been used for their intended purpose. I.e. in a swimming pool.

I too love the smell of a new inflatable. I don't get many new inflatables now, the last op thing I bought was a 48 inch beach ball in December 2012, so it's been a while now. I'll enjoy it all the more though the next time I get one. :P

I like the smell, but have recently become aware that what is creating the smell may be toxic. Now I worry about that.

I absolutely love the smell. When I get a new inflatable I just love to hold it against me uninflated with my eyes closed while I take it in. I gives me such an insane sense of euphoria. Nothing compares to it. One of my friends who knows I'm into this actually bought an inflatable sea dragon for me. I don't have it yet but I'm soooooo excited to get it.

Yeah I read that too. In the scheme of things (IMHO) it's probably not going to cause much harm if it's infrequent exposure (I could one day regret that statement of course) but personally I do more risky and potentially acutely harmful things most days so some perspective helps I suppose.

The same article also said that you should rinse new shower curtains and the likes before use to reduce your phthalates exposure, so that could be a thing for new inflatables. Could also be BS as I don't remember what publication it was in.

@Jk - Nice. Do they think you just like the smell?

No, she knows all about it. She's a really close friend, and she's fine talking about it. She's not into it herself, but is really encouraging and actually gets kind of excited over it. Like, when I get a new one I text her and she shares my excitement about it. I've managed to find myself a few really good friends.

The pleasure I got from inflatables started when I was 7 and I’m not sure if anyone agrees with me but I always found that chewing gum and school rubbers had a kind of related scent, but all 3 or in their own way toxic, so yeah…
