Well, it's some time later and I have an update.
Unfortunately I chickened out as I knew I would. I could, at most, force myself to put 20 pounds of my weight. Ugh.
If I would have to give a reason I think it was for fear of the loud noise if I got too rough or something went wrong.
I guess there's attempt number two to look forward to, thanks for your encouragements thus far, everyone!
It's just going to be one of those things I have to work myself up to, to enjoy fully.

The tent idea is great, I'd definitely go for that if you want to try popping.

Only real problem is not enough room to put one together in the house, and I was never taught how to put one together. Otherwise I'd totally get one and have a blast (haha, see what I did there?)
Plus, the shreds would be inside the tent, not all over the floors so cleanup would, hopefully, just be a matter of very carefully escaping the tent and putting it away for next time.
Oh gods, I so want to have my own place right now...

Find to buy small earplugs to cover the noise. Buy small balloons to overcome the popping sound.

I'm sorry, but what do you need a tent for? Sitpopping doesn't usually create that much of a mess. Not anywhere near as much as a blow to pop anyway.

I've heard q24s shred into a billion tiny latex fragments when they go. The tent would hopefully contain at least most of them so I wouldn't have to be answering questions about them, lol.
I was thinking a garbage bag could work, though I'm not sure if the balloon exploded violently enough if it would send some of it's fragments outside the bag?

Sonarloon, I weigh around 190 and I've found any number of balloons I can bounce my full weight on: Q24 (discontinued), cattex, Tilly, some punchballs, and others - Tilly has the extra sensation of feeling very soft.

I never inflate to full neck, or even close, and that's really the key to not popping.

Well you said you're young and "can't travel" [in a different thread] - but I should add the 24 inch balloons at Party City to my list. I've given some of those a LOT of abuse. This assumes, of course, that you can get to a Party City store.

There are no guarantees with balloons if you bounce-to-NON-pop, but the Party City ones are probably about the best that are available via ordinary retail stores. Of course if you can order some online (or perhaps you even need to), there are suddenly more possibilities for you. I was bouncing my 190 pounds on a Party City balloon and it didn't bust...but I also admit I don't inflate them "rock hard" before riding, but I do inflate substantially.
