Default Helium inhalation: Your thoughts
Hello, folks! Was just curious what your opinions are on inhaling helium either from latex or mylars. Have you done it? Do you enjoy it? Do you feel anything when you see other people do it? I was telling someone that I feel like itís an underrated balloon activity, and I wish it was more prominent among looners.

There's a lot of folks that will say it's dangerous to do; that's not accurate in 99% of cases. I've always been a fan, and I wish more people would do it.

And even then, I think that 1% comes from inhaling straight from a tank, which Iím not a fan of. Balloons or nothing.

I think the danger is more likely that you aren't getting any oxygen when inhaling helium.
If I would to that I would have two-three deep breaths between inhalations

Technically correct, but the way things work ensures that the only way to kill yourself by doing it is to fill a whole room with it or something equally stupid. The same goes for that nitrous/nangs/whippets stuff which people use to get high, although that adds concerns like addiction which aren't present with helium.

All they have to do is:
1. Never inhale helium straight from the cylinder. That's what leads to the most problems.
2. Never place foil balloon over head, fill room/car with helium, anything like that.
3. Never do it while standing upright, near sharp objects, while operating a motor vehicle, anything like that.

Don't do that stuff, and it's just harmless fun! Well, maybe not for me and OP

So am I being overly stupid/risky by doing this?

I crurrentky have a large industrial helium tank so I'll fill a large 24" balloon, go lie on a gl1200 and inhale the helium? To be honest it makes me feel great, I get super tingly, and just giddy

Is this safe? I know the main dangers come from when people inhale right from cylinder so I'm avoiding doing that
