    Silly curiosity

I know, my thread could looks stupid, but I want to satisfy my curiosity.
Events which involve balloons, in everyday life, usually use simple balloons and above all balloons with small size; I saw balloons with large size in rare cases.
Every time I wanto to purchase balloons, I've a wide choise, many brands (Tuf-Tex, Qualatex, Belbal etc.) many kinds, many size.
So I'm wondering: do those famous brands make special balloons, large size, many kinds and anything for our looners?
Example: What are Unique 16" tipically used for? And the Tuf-Tex 24"?
I don't know if there are a specific answer, but when I known this fetish and I known the wide choise of balloons there is, wonder about it is legit

I guess they're used in photo shoots and events. The large ones can't have been that popular because they stopped producing Q24's.
How big will it go? Only one way to find out...

I think some are used to make a pinata and others for photoshoots.

Good question! I’ve seen what I can only presume are BSA 17” balloons at car dealerships. I expect most of the round 17-19” balloons are intended for that purpose.

Large, round 36” balloons appear to be used for table decorations at semi-formal events. Black ones appear to be popular at gender reveals for incoming newborn babies.

Like you, I’m very curious about 24” balloons; they’re too big to be considered “normal”, yet they’re not quite big enough to be used as decorations alone. Perhaps they get used in balloon sculptures along with 16” or 17” balloons.

Who is better than a looner producing balloons aimed to looners

                It would be perfect.

Surely the Cattex longneck balloons must have been created with looners in mind. I couldn’t imagine any other use for them.

That's a good point! All the others can double as normal decorations but I can't imagine a longneck being used in any advertising or even photo shoots.

Very true about about the Cattex long necks! They're marketed for us, Im sure
& yeah, pretty much every car dealership in my vicinity uses Tuff-Tex 17s & 24s tied to every antenna & always have big balloon displays in the show rooms featuring clusters of Q-36s & TT-17s & of course they also flew massive cloud busters you could see from miles away!

I used to be a vehicle service agent for Enterprise car rental & part of my job was to deliver & pick up various new cars so as a result I got to visit many a dealership & i can say for a fact that balloon displays were their go to for attracting customers. I had a cute assistant who used to accompany me on some of my drop offs & pick ups & we used to talk about & admire the balloons!

I became an expert at self control.....

There was an interview with Cattex by Balloons United a while ago, it doesn't go very deep into the details but the person they interviewed said they were aware of the looner community and are glad for it.

Wow, thanks for sharing! That was so nice to read - I have wondered in the past if maybe it was a little "wrong" for me to use them if the makers weren't aware or wouldn't approve... I do remember on an old looner forum I used to be on, there were a few members who were working in big balloon factories. It's a lot of years ago so I can't really remember ones, but I think there was a lady from Tilly balloons.
