Balloons United did a nice tutorial video (in both English & Deutche):

This tutorial will show you how to properly inflate a CATTEX GL500 balloon. Watch, learn and do it yourself!SHOP:https://www.balloons-united.com/en/cattexgl5...

They use the GL500, but the principle is the same.

Think you'll struggle to inflate one fully by mouth. Not impossible, but they're awkward to get started with. They all say to inflate them from the end nipple back towards the neck to safely inflate them without overstressing the balloon.

I always use a battery povered pump.
It's also becauce i float on the GL1200 balloons and I am very inpatient to get on the balloon when i get to the lake.
If you wanna know more about my floating adventures check out my thread :Floating on a GL1200

I've blown up GL1200s by mouth many times. It's not too difficult, it just takes a while - I can blow one up to rated size in about 15 minutes if I focus on it.

Sigh, inflated my first gl500 today by a pump. I inflated it from the nipple to the nozzle. But when I was done and gave it a hug it popped on me. A bit disappointed. Not sure if it was mine or the balloons fault. It seemed bigger then the g500 I see in YouTube.

When you say "from the nipple to the nozzle", do you mean you inflated it until even the neck was full? If so, it makes sense that it popped - the neck typically only inflates once the rest of the balloon is pretty significantly overinflated.

If not, it may have just been a defect or something sharp - GL500s are typically very durable.

I inflated it from the front to the neck but left the neck uniflated. It was my first time blowing up a zeppelin so I just stretched it before hand. Would it be better if I blew it up multiple times?

Yes, Cattex and Rifco brand balloons tend to stretch very well, so reinflating them a couple times to stretch them out a bit will help.

No problem! GLs are very nice balloons, well worth learning to blow them up properly so you can get the most out of them and avoid accidental pops (which can be expensive)
